Microsoft has announced a $1.5 billion investment in artificial intelligence firm G42, based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This investment will give Microsoft a minority stake and a seat on G42’s board. Under the partnership, G42 will utilize Microsoft’s cloud computing platform Azure to provide advanced AI solutions to global public sector clients and large enterprises. The collaboration aims to bring advanced AI and digital infrastructure to countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa. Additionally, Microsoft and G42 will support the establishment of a $1 billion fund to boost AI skills in the UAE and the broader region.
