Almost 30 people were rescued and evaluated after being stranded upside down on a ride at an amusement park in Portland. The ‘AtmosFEAR’ ride at Oaks Amusement Park stopped at the highest point, suspending 28 riders upside down. Emergency services responded and coordinated with park engineers to manually lower the ride. The riders were then safely evacuated and checked by medical personnel. One rider was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. The ride has been closed while the park investigates the cause of the incident. This happened on the opening day of the park’s 2024 season.
