Publisher of Call of Duty, maker of AR-15xa0style riflexa0and Meta named in wrongful death lawsuits by families of Uvalde victims

Three companies are facing lawsuits for wrongful death in connection to the Uvalde school shooting of 2022. The suits accuse Meta, Activision, and Daniel Defense of contributing to the shooter’s actions. The families of 19 victims settled a lawsuit with the city for $2 million. According to the complaints, the shooter downloaded the video game ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’ and was exposed to the weapon used in the shooting. The companies are accused of grooming vulnerable individuals through explicit marketing on Instagram. The shooter purchased a firearm from Daniel Defense and committed the shooting shortly after. The lawsuits claim that the companies participated in corrupting vulnerable individuals.
